JEE MAIN 2018 News: –  

Jee Advanced 2018 will be conducted by IITK on 20 May 2018.

A Number of students from Bihar write to PM Modi against the decision to make the JEE Advanced test online. The students have already written to HRD minister of India. The Joint Admission Board took this decision in the month of Aug 2017.

The JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted by IIT Kanpur, last time IITK organise the JEE exam in 2011. There is a massive change in the exam this year and this is the online mode of JEE exam. IITK has mentioned that extra 20 minutes will be provided for logging in the desktop and for extra work.

Entrance exams in India are undergoing different changes for the year 2018. In the started, CBSE said to hold one exam for all engineering admission like NEET for medical admission, but the scene for engineering exam is totally different than the medical exam, that’s why JEE MAIN 2018 and different state level exam will be held for engineering students.

The JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted online from 2018 onwards. This decision was taken at the Joint Admission Board meeting held at IIT Madras on Sunday. The official said – the online exam will reduce the printing mistake in the questions paper. We have been thinking about going online from last 3 to 4 years earlier, however, JEE MAIN will be available in online and offline.

A National Testing Service will be set up to conduct an Aptitude Test, for testing technical aptitude and innovative thinking skill. The computer based aptitude test may be directed 2 or more times in a year. Based on the enactment, about 4 lakh aspirants shall be short-listed for taking the JEE.

The process of registration for the JEE Main 2018 involves 3 steps

  • Initially, Filling application form
  • Next, Uploading photograph
  • Later, signature and payment of application fee.

Here are the few steps involved in filling JEE Main 2018 Application Form are mentioned:

  • The Candidates who have to apply for JEE entrance exam must visit the official website of JEE Main.
    • Then the candidate has to click the option “Apply for JEE Main 2018” button which then navigates to the registration page of the JEE main exam.
    • After that, click on the Apply option for JEE Main 2018 under New Registration tab.
    • The candidates must hold a valid aadhaar number/ aadhaar enrollment number/registration number issued by facilitation by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which is done before applying online.
    •The Candidates must also give a valid e-mail ID & a mobile number to complete the registration process for future correspondences.
    • And the candidates has to choose a password of 8 to 13 characters with aa small letter, capital letter, a special character and a number.
    • Next, the Candidates must look on that they have filled correct details which have to be matched with the provided aadhaar card and other relevant documents.
    • Candidates scanned images i.e., coloured passport size recent photograph, signature and left thumb impression must be matched with given documents.
    • Later the candidates have to pay the application fee using either debit card/PayTM/ SBI Buddy Wallet/ credit card/ Cash Card or by generating and submitting fee via E-challan.
    • Once after paying the application fee, candidates can successfully submit their form.

The payment of the Fee can be paid either by debit card/ PayTM/ SBI Buddy Wallet/ credit card/ Cash Card or through e-challan.

  • The Paper-1 of Jee Main is for engineering also known as B.E/B.Tech.
  • Jee Main paper-1 will be given both online and offline. But candidates is allowed to take only one exam mode.
  • Paper-1 of the Jee main includes objective type questions.
  • JEE Main Paper-1 question paper of will be available in both Hindi and English. The candidates writing an exam in Gujarat, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman Diu, will be able to write an exam in Gujarati also. The candidates have to fill question paper language while filling up the application form.
  •  The Exam duration will be 3 hours but 40% is given more for disability, and the duration of exam will be 4 hours for them.
  • The exam also includes negative marking of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer.

Jee Main 2018 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2018 is should be class 12th pass or equivalent with45%marks in each of the subjects. Other mandatory requirements are mentioned below:-

  • The Compulsory Subjects of JEE Mains

The candidates should pass class 12th. They should have studied 5 subjects in  12th. For B.E./B.Tech, candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics and with one of these subjects Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology. For B.Arch./B.Planning, they should have studied Mathematics subject with 50% marks in total including five subjects.

  • The Year of Passing for JEE Mains

All Candidate’s passing year of 12th class should be either 2016 or 2015. Note that candidates who are going for class 12 in 2017 can also apply.

  • Number of Attempts for JEE Mains

A candidate can appear for JEE Main maximum 3 times.
• Age Limit for JEE Mains

Candidate’s date of birth should be on or after October 1, 1993.

JEE MAIN 2018 Eligibility Criteria for Droppers

You have 3 chance for JEE MAIN Exam. If your board percentage is less than 75% or you are not in top 20% percentile of your board then you are not eligible for JEE MAIN 2018 exam. However, if there is a single entrance exam for all engineering admission then you may be eligible for the JEE 2018 exam.
